about

ENGLISH: The Sun of Hyperborea

The new album by Holocoder, Solntse Giperborei (eng.: “The Sun of Hyperborea”) is an insight into the pagan roots of the Slavic world, an original culture forgotten and nearly dead by now.

The modern human being is dragged into a rat race for the most expensive toys in the market where natural feelings are gradually getting replaced with virtual experiences, the need of constant consumption and a rush for immediate satisfaction. The personality as a natural creative power of a man is being obsolete.

When the human being opens its eyes they are full of terror. Seeking salvation, it raises its both hands towards the mighty sun.

The first album by Holocoder featuring lyrics in Russian, Solntse Giperborei turns the page in the band’s history. It is an uncompromised and furious response to the modern-age processes that threaten the very essence of our identity. If this work wakes up our brothers and sisters to regain their unique culture then its mission is fulfilled.

Holocoder fans are going to appreciate the good old EBM enhanced with Dark Electro and TBM elements. If you know Russian, you will notice the sharp lyrics that delivers the message in a direct yet poetic way. Dance to the martial rhythms of Zhelezobeton (eng.: “Concrete Steel”), punchy beat of Ya v Boyu (eng.: “I’m In Combat”) and other tracks from the new album.

In addition to the original tracks by Holocoder, the album features two collaborations with Kazan band Hypocritical Legacy and two remixes: Ledyanoy Rassvet (eng. “The Dawn of Ice”) by Zweifelhaft and Rai (eng.: “Paradise”) by Kiberflesh from Samara.

Solntse Giperborei is a limited-edition release of up to 299 copies.

Holocoder Moscow, Russia

Heavy beats enveloped in cold synthesizer waves. The powerful mechanical voice that never breaks. The eternal war around and inside of us, bloodthirsty gods, totalitarian rule, social decay, and mighty ancient nations that have turned to dust. All this is part of the story told by Holocoder, the oldest active Russian EBM/Dark Electro band. ... more
